We are a small, deliberately selective studio. We take on a limited number of projects each year so we can give each one the full attention it deserves. These guidelines will help you understand whether your project might be a good fit.

Stories of lived experience, transformation, and meaning-making.

Purpose-led books by founders, leaders, and practitioners.

Works for educators, academics, and lifelong learners.

Books that support self-inquiry, growth, and intentional living.
Compilation & Anthology
Curated multi-author collections around a shared theme.
Manuscript requirements
File format
.docx preferred. PDF accepted for initial review only.
Font & spacing
Times New Roman or Garamond, 12pt, double-spaced.
Margins
Standard 2.5 cm on all sides.
Word count
Non-fiction: 20,000–90,000 words. Compilations: negotiated per project.
Language
English. Australian or international English accepted.
Stage of work
Complete manuscripts, works in progress, and outlined concepts are all welcome at enquiry stage.
The submission process
We respond to all initial enquiries within 5–7 business days.

Initial Enquiry
Send a brief introduction to enquiries@mindfulpublishing.au — include your name, a one-paragraph description of your project, and where you are in the writing process. No full manuscript required at this stage.

Conversation
If your project feels like a strong fit, Albina will invite you to a short discovery conversation — by phone or video. This is a chance to understand each other's working styles and expectations.

Manuscript Review
For projects moving forward, we'll request a sample of 15–30 pages (or a full outline and two chapters for works in progress). This allows us to assess editorial fit and provide honest, specific feedback.

Proposal & Agreement
If we're aligned, we'll outline a tailored proposal — services, timeline, investment, and next steps. We work through a clear letter of agreement before any project begins.
A note on editorial fit
We decline many projects that are technically well-written because editorial fit matters as much as quality. We work best with authors who value collaboration, are open to rigorous editing, and believe their book can meaningfully serve a reader. If we're not the right home for your project, we'll say so honestly — and where possible, point you in a direction that might be.
